Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Leaker delivers good news for fans of thin and narrow flagships as first design render image teased

A typically reliable leaker claimed to have received final measurements for Samsung's next Ultra-branded smartphone. If accurate, then it would see the Galaxy S25 Ultra being the thinnest in the series to date, as well as one of the shortest and narrowest.

The launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra remains a way off yet. Based on the release of its predecessor, Samsung's next flagship could debut in January 2025 alongside the smaller Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus. To that end, Roland Quandt recently claimed that Samsung had finalised designs for all three flagships and had already begun production in some capacity.

Now, @OnLeaks and @UniverseIce have thrown their weight behind that idea, albeit implicitly. On the one hand, the former has teased the publication of the first Galaxy S25 Ultra render image. While @OnLeaks has not done so yet, they have shared a heavily blurred version of one render image, which we have embedded above.

On the other hand, @UniverseIce has pushed ahead with revealing new information about the Galaxy S25 Ultra in a series of tweets. For example, the leaker has shared an image allegedly highlighting the device's mid-frame. Reportedly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will arrive with more curved rear edges than earlier models, which should also surpass those of the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,644.99 - 512 GB on Amazon). Theoretically, this could improve ergonomics, but only if these refined edges actually feel different in the hand compared to Samsung's current flagships.

In a similar vein, @UniverseIce claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra measures 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm, compared to 162.3 x 79 x 8.6 mm for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. If the former's dimensions are accurate, then it would make the Galaxy S25 Ultra at least 0.4 mm thinner than any previous Galaxy S Ultra smartphone. Likewise, a width of 77.6 mm would be 1.4 mm narrower than the Galaxy S24 Ultra and only second to the Galaxy S21 Ultra in this regard. Added to that, a height of 162.8 mm would also make the Galaxy S25 Ultra the second shortest in the series, behind only the Galaxy S24 Ultra
